Epsom salt, also know as magnesium sulfate is a great source of magnesium and sulfur to plants. Tomatoes and Peppers are two plants that show magnesium deficiency late in the season.
A foliar spray of 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salt per gallon of water applied at planting, mid growth, and bloom will help prevent these deficiencies. Epsom Salt can also be used on lawns as a foliar spray or spread dry. In the lawn 12 lbs per 5,000 square feet is a typical rate of application.
Magnesium Sulfate also encourages Hydrangeas to have white blooms.
